So instead of giving the usual wedding gifts, I decided to give Matt and Stacey cookies (they probably wanted what they registered for...) Here is my attempt to give cookies as a gift...again. I tried a new technique "Brush Embroidery" ...I think I did okay...you can decide... I did a few of each design, except the edible paper where the photos are printed on. EDIBLE PAPER ROCKS...lots of fun to work with and much easier than expected.

Are you sitting down??? This may be a long post, but there are pictures as distractions.... I have been holding on to pictures to post. I have been waiting for my website to be updated (THANK YOU PETE, you ROCKI!!!!) So now...I can show you what I have been doing... So I started my cookie obsession...um...er...cookie hobby with these autumn leaves inspired by Lila Loa. Obviously, not my best camera work... Sarah and Brad bought a house....they are getting married soon too (WOO HOO - so happy for them) I made a cute bag topper and well a cookie... I had a couple of friends getting new cars...oddly enough in the same week...not wanting to stop the cookie extravaganza...I made cookies... Next came my friend Annette's birthday. Annette loves coffee...a lot...I made her coffee bean cookies, inspired by The Decorated Cookie. I wrapped it all up in a large coffee filter and made a cute little 'coffee bean' gift tag... Next, my friend Stacy's birthday. Made a few cookies using the marbling technique I loved from Sweetopia. Here is my version.... BEAR WITH ME....ONE MORE Pictorial for this post....CHRISTMAS.... So I did the 12 Business Days of Christmas this year for my friends and co-workers....something each BUSINESS day of Christmas. I made things like fudge, biscotti, homemade marshmallows and Irish soda bread... I ended the 12 days with COOKIES.... Enjoy. Stay tuned...I sew'd stuff for Christmas gifts...I will show that off in my next post.
Thank you for hanging in...I am not re-inventing the wheel, just sharing what I do to pass time. While wandering around on the internet….I found cute coasters on The Long Tread’s site… Here is my version…I literally found material, batting and had them (8 coasters) finished inside an hour...
No creative outlet for over 6 months…..SIX MONTHS. S. I. X. MONTHS. Baby steps…. Lime cookies…raspberry blondies…brown butter blondies…blueberry jam… Took a break to make a noon-time dinner before my darling husband left for work… Finished up with Irish soda bread…. Now back to reality…laundry…ugh!!! I just know I am looking for a place to be creative and share what I make. I love to sew, make cards and bake. I hope to share all of that here. More to come! |
