I made monogram cookies and mini cupcakes...pink and purple...
But...I was worried what the mini cupcakes might be served on...so I made an edible plate, cuz that's how I roll... ;)
I hope you like what I did...
I was lucky enough to be asked to do confections for a little girl's 5th birthday.

So a friend of mine recently got a new job at the Denver Zoo.
We were all so excited for her - so obviously I made cookies... I used vintage zoo posters and made the borders look like rocks...I hope you like them. My friend recently rode the Venus de Miles here in Colorado with her mom. She asked for some cookies to celebrate when they finished. Clearly I was in... I hope you like what I came up with! Love finding reasons to make cookies and try new things. And I love that my friends celebrate every cookie I make with ohhhs and ahhhs...makes a girl feel good. So I made these for my friend Kitty who is younger than me...but only by DAYS...We'll turn 40 together next year! Love ya Kitty!! Hope you like my cookies! So a friend of mine just worked her butt off and graduated with her bachelor's degree. To say I am proud is, well, an understatement. She did this while working full time and traveling to and from Europe. Working, working, working, working... Way to go Jen!! And of course to celebrate - I made cookies. My mom and I are doing the whole ancestry research thing...finding interesting things. Also finding family we did not know we had. We had a ancestry tea to get family together to celebrate being family, hear stories about folks no longer with us, find out about extended family and enjoy each other. I of course, made cookies...even an edible plate... I hope you like them. I have a good friend who is involved with Heritage Camp here in Colorado. She asked me to make cookies for their silent auction. I was thrilled! The theme was Chinese New Year - Year of the Dragon. I hope you like them! As I have previously told you...I have fallen in love with sugar cookies...okay maybe obsessed is a word my husband would use. It might be a word I would use as well.
But I love the creative outlet and I love learning new techniques. I also may love Sweet Sugarbelle - she is a cookie genius and great teacher. These cookies are my version of her poppy cookies. I think they turned out great and I love the color contrast of the teal and orange. |
